1941 FORD & FORD TRUCK Factory Fog Light Unity S-3 Made for Ford Motor Co. 1940

Note #1:
On top of this light -- stamped into the metal -- are the words
" MODEL S-3 MADE FOR FORD MOTOR CO. BY UNITY MFG. CHICAGO USA "
Note #2:
In 1941, FoMoCo used two different vendors for both spotlights and fog lights. Appleton was a one year vendor used only in 1941. But in 1941 Unity was also a vendor to FoMoCo. Unity sold FoMoCo the Model S-3 Road Lamps and Spotlights. Unity was the primary pre-war supplier selling to Ford from 1937 to 1942. Appleton on the other had was a one year vendor -- only 1941.
Note #3:
The Unity Model S-3 Road Lamp sold here is for sure correct for the 1941 Ford cars and trucks and possibly late 1940. All of the Ford Unity S-3 lights for 1940 & 1941 have the same MADE FOR FORD MOTOR CO. writing on the light but it is stamped into the base of the light for 1940. For 1941, the stamping moved to the top of the light where it is more visible.
This auction is for a used 1941 Ford Factory Road Lamp used on both cars and truck. The 9165 Lens is in good condition. No cracks or big chips. No big dents. Does have small digs from touching the grill. This is for sure the correct pre-war unity road lamp for a Ford. E-Mail with questions. Shipping extra. Good Luck!
